Dear Sponsors of The Rise Liberia Academy,

On Saturday, February 19, Kellie Girling & I will travel to Liberia to visit the Rise Liberia Academy and meet with the wonderful students and the faculty who faithfully serve God’s purposes in Liberia.

While we are there this ‘father & daughter’ team will cover a lot of ground! We’ll be updating the photos and biographical details of the children you sponsor; after all, it’s two years since we were last there and the children are growing up and progressing through their school life.

Kellie will spend time with the teachers giving seminars and fielding any questions they might have about how best they can meet their responsibilities.

Towards the end of the week a special gathering has been arranged to dedicate the new school building. Funds have recently been sent to finish the second floor ceiling and to cover the cost of exterior and interior paint.

Plans for the future will be discussed. Fund-raising projects such as soap-making will be one of the first to be launched; a giant step toward the school working toward self-sufficiency. However, that’s a goal which will take some years to accomplish.
