ON BEHALF OF OUR RISE LIBERIA COORDINATOR BARWEA TOTAH
For the last 18 years Pastor Barwea Toteh has faithfully served the ministries God has opened up to us in Liberia, West Africa, working as the coordinator for Rise Liberia and principal and superintendent of the RL Academy. Living in the poorest capital city in the world he has shown himself to be a man of integrity, handling the finances necessary to build two schools and the sponsorships for hundreds of children. Yet he, with his wife and three children, live on ‘next to nothing’.
Every day, Barwea travels 90 minutes each-way from his home to our school, on broken pot-holed roads, using a ‘taxi’ (up to ten people squashed into a small car) a motor-bike ‘taxi’ (perhaps one of three passengers squeezed behind the driver), and a Keh-keh, the universal tricycle cab seen in poor cities throughout the world. This inconvenience is exhausting and costs him more than most Liberians earn or own! So we believe it’s about time we stepped in. Will you help us?
CAN YOU HELP US BUY A KEH-KEH?
THIS IS A KEH-KEH (pronounced kay-kay) We can buy one in Monrovia for $3,500.00. Barwea could drive this across the city to school, and to the many other locations demanded by his work on behalf of Rise Liberia, and while he is in his school office a trusted friend could take it out and earn a little money as a taxi! It’s a win-win situation. In the context of the finances of Rise Liberia it’s a very creative idea. The difference for Barwea would be life-changing!
